THE SKIING IN Aspen SKI RESORT
WHAT IS THE SKIING LIKE AT Aspen?
ASPEN MOUNTAIN
The identities of Aspen ski resort and the city of Aspen are intertwined. Both are rooted in a silver mining past, and both are forever moving forward in the pursuit of pleasure today. For visitors, joy can come in many forms here: excellent skiing and riding on the mountain, followed by world-class dining and shopping in town. When it comes to terrain, Aspen skiing is unlike any other ski mountain in America, offering an abundance of options.
A dash down the Face of Bell is a rite of passage for expert skiers the world over, while those in search of groomers can cruise down the same runs that hosted the 2017 Audi FIS World Cup Finals. When the Aspen skiing day is done, watch the action on the mountain fade into town at Ajax Tavern, the iconic après ski spot at the base of the Silver Queen Gondola.
ASPEN HIGHLANDS
For those in the know, Aspen Highlands is the home of two local rites of passage. The first is Highland Bowl, a steep, wide-open swath of skiing bliss with turns that must be earned by hiking along a ridgeline rising to 12,392 feet (3,777m). Après skips a season at Cloud Nine Alpine Bistro with relaxed dining featuring fondue and champagne. Both take courage to conquer, and both will yield stories for years to come. With everything that a ski town native loves, Aspen Highlands is the 'local’s mountain'.
SNOWMASS
Larger than our three other mountains combined, Snowmass offers burly steeps, inviting glades, and endless bumps, jumps, and groomers. You’ll be challenged to ski it all in a week - or a full season.
BUTTERMILK
Buttermilk is the perfect playground for kids and kids at heart to learn the basics, master the terrain park, skin uphill, or watch the world’s best athletes during X Games. Come see the transformed base area with an intuitive skier services building acting as a one-stop shop for lessons, rentals, tickets, and lounging, this mountain is perfect for beginners and familie s- all while offering the adventurous thrills Aspen Snowmass is known for.
