THE SKIING IN Killington SKI RESORT

WHAT IS THE SKIING LIKE AT KILLINGTON?

Killington boasts 155 trails serviced by 21 lifts, including two express gondolas and a high-speed six-person bubble chair. Its terrain mix suits all levels of skiers and snowboarders: about 17% beginner, 40% intermediate, and 43% advanced/expert. Beginners enjoy dedicated learning zones and gentle cruisers around the Ramshead and Snowshed areas, while intermediates can explore extensive tree-lined cruisers. Experts challenge themselves on steep moguls, glades, and terrain parks, including the largest halfpipe in the East and multiple terrain parks with over 150 features.

Killington Ski Resort offers a well-rounded terrain distribution suitable for all skier levels, making it a versatile mountain for beginners, intermediates, and advanced skiers.

Beginners
Approximately 17% of Killington's trails are designated as beginner (green), with gently sloping areas such as the Ramshead and Snowshed bases. These zones provide wide, forgiving terrain ideal for novices and those learning to ski.

Intermediates
About 40% of the terrain is intermediate (blue). Killington features extensive tree-lined cruisers and groomed blue trails that help intermediate skiers develop skills on varied slopes. The mountain’s size allows intermediates to explore diverse runs without venturing into overly difficult terrain.

Advanced/Experts
Roughly 43% of the terrain caters to advanced and expert skiers, including steep moguls, glades, and challenging terrain parks. Signature runs like Outer Limits provide long, demanding descents that test endurance and technical skills. While some black diamond runs vary in steepness and length, the mountain’s icy East Coast conditions can add to the challenge.

Overall, Killington is known for its terrain variety and longer runs that demand stamina, with a reputation for having icy conditions that can make the skiing more technical, especially on harder slopes. Skiers of all abilities can find suitable terrain and progression opportunities on this large, diverse mountain.
